UPDATE – ST. ARNOLD’S DEGREE COLLEGE
St. Arnolds Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce got affiliation from Mumbai University for B.Com and B.Sc. streams on 20th August 2020. A total of 114 students have taken admission. The first initiative of the College to get connected to the students was to organize a Talent Show cum Christmas celebration on 19th December 2020. The event provided a platform to the students to showcase their talents. This was followed by First Semester exams from 28thDecember – 5th January 2021. All students appeared for the exam and 97 percent students passed. 61 students got 75 percent and above marks. Second Semester started on 11th January 2021. In order to get connected to parents of students, Parent Teacher Association (PTA) was formed on 12th January 2021. An online webinar was conducted by Dr. Harish Shetty – A Psychiatrist with extensive experience in the field of mental health on the topic “Virus and V: Covid 2020”. An online webinar was organized on 16th January 2021 titled “Social Media – dangers & its security”. The speaker was Mr. Sachin Dedhia, a cyber security expert. It was an interactive session in which various tips were given for cyber security. Mentoring is a learning and development partnership, between someone with vast experience and someone who wants to learn. The college joined hands with Rotary Club of Bombay Mahakali Heights on 23rd January 2021. An online webinar was organised, by eleven members of Retract Club. Each student was allotted a mentor. For financial literacy a webinar on Stock Markets was held under the guidance of Shri Harsha, M.D., Shine Projects on 29th January 2021. Mentoring and Career Guidance session was conducted on 27th February 2021. RCBMH and Rotract Club members organised guidance offline session for students interested in making a career in Chartered Accountancy and Banking. The session helped the young minds to develop a broader perspective towards life and career.
