SVD Prarthana Niketan, Kaduthuruthy

Prarthana Niketan, was started in the year 1959 by Fr.Peter Verhaelen, SVD as a recruitment and formation centre for high school boys. The Provincial Chapter held in 1976 mandated to convert the premises into a Catholic Center to help Lay People to grow in their Faith life as an S V D contribution to the Church in Kerala which gave many of her sons to the Society.

The centre has Initiation retreats, Growth in the Spirit led life retreats, Prayer experience retreats, Discipleship training retreats, Marriage preparation retreats and Couples Retreats. Besides these retreats Bible study programmes and mission animation sessions were conducted in the beginning. Along with the retreat ministry Prarthana Niketan provides ample opportunities to people around the Institution to participate in daily Holy Eucharist and confession.
