FAMILY FIESTA AT SVD RAIA

The Family Feast 2023 at SVD Seminary Raia was a spectacular celebration that unfolded over seven days, beginning on the 26th of November and concluding with the Feast of the Patron, St. Francis Xavier, on December 3rd. The theme for this joyous occasion was “Ignite to Shine,” encapsulating the spirit of the event that aimed at kindling the unique talents and abilities of the seminarians. The festivities commenced with a grand Inauguration Mass, a solemn occasion presided over by Fr. Innocent Fernandes, the patron of the family feast. As the celebratory atmosphere enveloped the seminary, the teams named Rays and Light were formed, symbolizing the radiant unity and collective brilliance of the seminarian community. Over the next seven days, the seminary grounds buzzed with fun-filled games and competitions took centre stage. The spirited participation of the seminarians not only brought joy and laughter but also strengthened the bonds of friendship and companionship among them. Adding to the vibrancy of the event were the numerous stage programs that unfolded throughout the week. These programs served as a platform for the seminarians to showcase their hidden talents, ranging from music and dance to skits and other artistic expressions. The stage became a canvas for the diverse skills within the community to shine brightly

The week-long celebration reached its pinnacle with the Feast of the Patron, St. Francis Xavier, on December 3rd. It was a day of thanksgiving, honouring the patron saint and embracing the core values that guide the seminary community. A moving highlight of the Family Feast was the inclusive gesture of sharing the joy with benefactors and domestic workers on the last day. These individuals, who contribute in various ways to the seminary community, were invited to partake in the celebrations. It was a heartfelt acknowledgement of their invaluable role and a demonstration of gratitude for being integral members of the extended seminary family. In essence, the Family Feast of 2023 at SVD Seminary Raia fostered unity, friendship, and gratitude. It was a celebration that transcended boundaries, bringing together the entire seminary community in a spirit of joy and shared purpose.
